36 weeks and I have definitely reached the stage in my pregnancy where I feel like an elephant!!  I can’t roll over by myself very well (my husband has become very pushy 😂), I struggle to get out of bed, and half the time I am on my feet I feel like my stomach is dragging on the floor!

One night I will sleep like a log and feel great in the morning (for the first couple hours at least), and the next I will toss and turn (very slowly) and never quite find the perfect position for the baby and me.  Yes, the baby does have a say in whether the position is comfortable, because if he doesn’t like it he lets me know until it becomes uncomfortable for me as well.

I have tried my best to stay as fit as I could through out the pregnancy, and it has definitely paid off so far.  I have been able to live a fairly normal and active life, including going to a Bundesliga Soccer game (which was a blast)!!  I have my exercise ball that I use anywhere from 10 – 30 minutes in a day, more if I need it.  And I have done what I can to keep up with my walking and otherwise being active playing with the niece and nephew and such.  I am definitely feeling my back more and more as the weight increases, but I was expecting that and am doing what I can to keep my back strong.

This week is going to be a pretty busy one for me. I had the Geburtsvorbereitungskurs (Birth Preparation Course) this evening from 18h00 to 20h00, tomorrow morning at 10h00 the midwife who will be checking in on us after the baby is born is making a house visit, and going to a town about 30 minutes away to pick up a friend in the afternoon.  Wednesday morning is my next checkup at the Gynecologist and Friday we are having someone over.  In between all of that I am planning on finishing up the nursery, getting in some shopping for some of the clothing that I am still lacking for after the baby comes, and either this week or next week we hope to go see the famous Mittelaltermarkt & Weihnachtsmarkt (Middle Ages Market & Christmas Market) in Esslingen.

We are fitting in what we can before the baby is born 😉  And I am doing what I can to make this season a nice time for hubby and me to spend together!!
