Like I mentioned in my previous post, it was just hubby and me this year for Christmas. So I decided I would do what I could to make it a nice and memorable Christmas for him. I started with a homemade Advents Calendar with 24 reasons why I love him, I have a lot more reasons than that, but there are only 24 days of Advent so…! Then I did what I could to get a few things that I knew he needed or wanted. Then I did what I could to just spend time with him and do little things to show him how much he means to me.
Yes, I am aware that that is a lot of gifts for only two people, BUT like I said, I was trying to make it a special Christmas for him, and…well, I LOVE to give gifts to the people I love!! And I really did give him mostly things he needed. But, I did give him one or two gifts that I knew he would like or really wanted to have.
No, not a toy minion from the film, but I Minion Knife made by a friend of ours in Missouri (MPCBlades) which I knew JP would like (and I liked it too so…).
JP has been a Huckabee supporter since 2007 and is very involved in American Politics. I knew he was wanting to get his hands on a copy of the book, so I knew it would be the perfect Christmas gift!! As you can see he was very proud to show it off 😀
Since we celebrated Thanksgiving with the traditional turkey dinner hubby wanted something different for Christmas Dinner, so we had ham, green beans and potatoes. It was the first time cooking ham for me, but it turned out very good, and we enjoyed it (and all the leftovers that will mean less work for me this weekend…YES!!)
We went for a walk just at sunset and were treated to a very beautiful evening sky. This is an unedited shot from the sunset tonight, and honestly it doesn’t catch half of the beauty of it, but oh well!!
As far as I am concerned it was a very nice Christmas. We know that things will be very different next year with the addition we are getting (Lord willing), so it was nice to be able to spend so much time together, just the two of us!
And now we await the arrival of the little one and for our world to be turned upside down (in a good way 😉 )
