How-To: Paint on Canvas

A few months ago, after seeing a few canvases my sister had painted, I bought an 8×8 Painting Canvas hoping to also try my hand at it.  I am not an artist!!  But, sunset silhouette pictures always looked like they’d be fairly easy to paint.

My husbands birthday is in March.  And, as is normally the case, he didn’t want me to spend money on his birthday.  So, I decided I would try to finally paint the canvas and give that to him for his birthday.

(Forgive me, but this How-To doesn’t have as many pictures as the last one!)

I could give you a step by step layout but I figured I would just tell you when I did…so here goes!

The first thing I did was get an idea of what I wanted to paint.  A quick online search and…

Then I set up my workspace! Nothing fancy, mind you.

Water to clean my brushes, paper towels to dry them.  Newspaper under the canvas and my laptop to “watch” The Munsters to help me stay relaxed!  Simple as can be!!

It took me about and hour in finish, including having to wait for the black to dry so that I could paint white over it (I painted way too much black the first time around).

And there you have it!  If I can do it, so can you!  Now, I just hope my husband loves it as much as I do 😀
